            Ma d\u00e9marche artistique<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

            Peindre est un besoin vital, essentiel, primaire. Un rendez-vous privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 et intime avec un monde plus grand dans lequel les barri\u00e8res tombent une \u00e0 une au fur et \u00e0 mesure de la nuit. Peindre est aussi une occasion de me rapprocher de ceux qui me manquent tant, probablement n\u2019y a-t-il de meilleur m\u00e9dium. Peindre est enfin une qu\u00eate incessante, une recherche obstin\u00e9e d\u2019une forme d\u2019expression brute pouvant faire l\u2019\u00e9conomie des mots.

            Travailler des grands formats change radicalement la donne. Un 50*100 cm est un objet manipulable sur lequel on a une emprise physique. On peut l\u2019attraper d\u2019une seule main et le contraindre facilement. Un 2 m\u00e8tres inverse le rapport de force, plus lourd \u00e0 porter, plus difficile \u00e0 accrocher, plus long \u00e0 peindre, plus complexe \u00e0 appr\u00e9hender. On pressent d\u2019embl\u00e9e que les r\u00e8gles du jeu ont chang\u00e9 et qu\u2019elles ne sont pas forc\u00e9ment en notre faveur. L\u2019enfant n\u2019est pas n\u00e9 qu\u2019il s\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9mancip\u00e9 du cr\u00e9ateur. Le rapport physique est plus exigeant et d\u2019autant plus passionnant.

            Je me suis longtemps demand\u00e9 comment Pierre Soulages avait pu consacrer une si grande partie de sa vie au noir. Pour comprendre, j\u2019ai fait un noir, puis deux, puis trois, etc., et j\u2019ai eu ma r\u00e9ponse. Evidente, naturelle. L\u2019association du noir au malheur, \u00e0 la d\u00e9sesp\u00e9rance, \u00e0 la mort dans l\u2019imaginaire collectif me semble impropre ou \u00e0 tout le moins r\u00e9ductrice dans le cas de la peinture. Le noir se situe tr\u00e8s au-del\u00e0 de ces consid\u00e9rations socioculturelles. Plus de faux-semblants, plus d\u2019artifice, plus d\u2019outrance, travailler le noir revient \u00e0 engager un dialogue intime, sinc\u00e8re et sans d\u00e9tour avec soi. Et parfois avec l\u2019autre. Une tentative d\u2019approcher de sa ou ses v\u00e9rit\u00e9s sur une terre d\u2019exploration infinie.

            \u00c0 la seconde o\u00f9 je mets du cadmium fonc\u00e9 sur mon couteau, mon rythme cardiaque s\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e8re et je me mets \u00e0 l\u00e9g\u00e8rement trembler d\u2019excitation, ne respirant que par \u00e0-coups. Faire des rouges est tr\u00e8s similaire \u00e0 une rencontre amoureuse foudroyante. La tension est l\u00e0, le rythme est primordial, la dynamique est essentielle, la concentration doit imp\u00e9rativement tenir du d\u00e9but \u00e0 la fin. Un rien pourra, \u00e0 n\u2019importe quel moment, remettre en cause la r\u00e9ussite finale du tableau, tout comme une odeur furtive ou un regard vol\u00e9 remettra en cause l\u2019\u00e9trange aventure de la s\u00e9duction. L\u2019intensit\u00e9 est totale. Une blitzkrieg artistique.

            Travailler le bleu peut \u00eatre une respiration ludique et po\u00e9tique \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019une jolie rencontre impr\u00e9vue et l\u00e9g\u00e8re qui s\u2019en va laisser de d\u00e9licats souvenirs. Mais la nuit n\u2019est jamais loin et le bleu aime \u00e0 s\u2019en emparer dans un processus qui devient alors beaucoup plus introspectif et dense. Il s\u2019impose alors comme une \u00e9vidence venant du plus profond de l\u2019\u00e2me. Entre r\u00e9flexion et s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9.

            Le blanc est en occident la couleur du mariage et de la puret\u00e9. Il est pour moi celle de la souffrance pass\u00e9e, de l\u2019\u00e2pret\u00e9, de la m\u00e9moire traumatique. J\u2019en m\u2019en \u00e9carte, je m\u2019en m\u00e9fie, je la tiens \u00e0 distance, ni trop pr\u00e8s ni trop loin, comme un mal n\u00e9cessaire. Travailler le blanc me ram\u00e8ne \u00e0 toutes ces heures pass\u00e9es, enfant, dans l\u2019univers psychiatrique \u00e0 visiter des proches qui s\u2019y \u00e9taient \u00e9chou\u00e9s. Avec le temps va, tout ne s\u2019en va pas.

            Le marron a une dimension terriblement organique. La couleur ne se d\u00e9voile jamais compl\u00e8tement, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant garder sa part de myst\u00e8re. La terre d'ombre naturelle me renvoie invariablement \u00e0 ces terres lointaines explor\u00e9es o\u00f9 j'ai exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 la guerre. Je mets de l'ombre naturelle et br\u00fbl\u00e9e sur ma toile et me voil\u00e0 projet\u00e9 vingt ans en arri\u00e8re au milieu d'un Kaboul en feu et en ruines.
